Hi! My name is Melissa Manno and I'm a student journalist at Penn State University. As a reporter for The Daily Collegian and a communications intern for Smeal College of Business, I have acquired skills necessary for any aspiring journalist such as the ability to write clearly and concisely on tight deadlines, a knowledge of A.P style and the SPJ Code of Ethics and a good eye for a potential story. I'm most passionate about shedding light on social issues and giving voice to underrepresented groups on campus.

Game of Fetch

Zoe Brown, 19, trains her eighteen-month-old Cockapoo puppy, Squiggy, on Penn State’s Old Main lawn. Brown is taking her Michigan State courses from her hometown of State College this semester, and often brings Squiggy, who she got during quarantine, to this spot to play fetch.

Penn State student Ido Chuang on the Old Main Lawn in State College, Pa. Chuang often comes to this spot to shoot photographs of the night sky. “I’ve been interested in photogoraphy for as long as I can remember,” Chuang said. “It’s my favorite thing to do.”
